JOHN HOGGARTH John was born and brought up in North Yorkshire. He trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. As an actor he has worked at The Stephen Joseph Theatre, The West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Haymarket Theatre and toured extensively both in the UK and Ireland.
Recently he has focused on writing and directing. He has a reputation for nurturing young talent and developing comedy.
He is part of the Sketch Comedy group The Ginge, The Geordie and The Geek who have been commissioned by the B.B.C. for their first comedy series which will air in 2013.
John was the Co-Artistic Director of the National Youth Theatre from 2003 until 2008. He led the company through an exciting period in its' history, seeing it celebrate fifty fantastic years of existence. John still works with the company when he gets the chance.
John also works as trainer and facilitator in the corporate world. He brings some of the learning from his experience as an actor to solve the problems of poor communication in the workplace.
Over recent years John has seen his work performed on the television, the radio, and on the stage.
He has a successful writing partnership with Tom Allen that has seen Tom win the BBC new talent award for comedy as well as the So You Think You Are Funny? with material they wrote together.
The Correspondent has become a hit on BBC Radio 4 and it now looks like a book will follow.
